PROJECT 52 – Week 33

Upside Down
During my stay in Vrboska – Hvar, I had seen some beautiful reflexions of old town houses and peaceful sea water, so my plan was to shoot one for my project 52. Among couple nice ones, I selected this photo. I hope you like reflexions like I do.

PROJECT 52 – Week 19

Dot the I
This photo I took during one of my long walks, after hard days work at a construction site in Makarska.
the Sun looks like a perfect dot on the ”i” impersonated by crane.
On of my favorite sunsets.

PROJECT 52 – Week 15

PROJECT 52 – Week 14

A View from Above
Mila Gojsalić (also traditionally “Mile Gojsalića”) (died 1530) is a Croatian heroine and martyr.
Her origins are from the village of Kostanje in Dalmatian hinterland and she was a distant descendant of Croatian king Gojslav. She lived in time of Ottoman wars in Croatia. In 1530 Ottoman Ahmed-pasha gathered an army of 10 000 men with a goal to conquer Poljica. He made a camp in a place called Podgrac (Podgrađe). Mila Gojsalić was among other local women forced to lose virginity with Ahmed-pasha. Because of that act she infiltrated the Turkish camp and blew up the munitions stockpile, killing Ahmed-pasha and numerous officers and soldiers. That act completely surprised and confused remaining Turkish soldiers who were then overrun by people of Poljica.
Ivan Meštrović sculptured the statue of her, installed above the town of Omiš, while Jakov Gotovac composed the opera to her honour. August Šenoa also wrote about her.

PROJECT 52 – Week 12

Saint Peter Lighthouse. Built long time ago, to be precise 1884.
Ever since I came in Makarska, I have been planning to take some photos of this unusual lighthouse. Few days ago, after dinner and hard days work, I had just about 10 minutes before it was pitch black, to shoot this photo.
Photo was taken with Olympus E-520 (like all of my photos from this project), and a tripod, with 30 second exposure.

Beach Walking

Beach Walking
Sea and the beaches of Makarska inspired me again to take some photos. After long day at a construction site this photo walk has been really relaxing and inspiring.

One Sunny day on a Pier

As the title says – one sunny day on a Pier.
Location Makarska, the umbrella skeleton looked very interesting to me, it got my attention.
